rob schneiders pants

On eBay, I found someone who was selling rob Schneider's pants from his movie "deuce bigalow." The funny thing is there were actually seven bids on the pants. The bidding was up to an intense price at thirteen dollars.

once, and class review

I really liked the movie we watched called Once. To me, It seemed to be qiute inspirational. I thought it really helped me get the idea of what a personal narrative is. The main charater portrayed the life of person in poverty very well. It wasnt like one of those blockbuster movies where what happens in the movie could never happen in real life.

In class, i like how movies and video clips are used to give students a better understanding of the assignment to come. I know it really helped me find ideas to brainstorm.

favorite game as a child

My favorite toy as a child were Lego's. I remember looking forward to playing with them all day before I would get out of school. What I liked most about them was that anything was possible, I was able to build anything I wanted. Because of my liking toward Lego's, to this day I still really like to build things. For a long time I thought that i was going to make building a profession, but later decided not to go down that road. I am positive that my Lego usage as a child encouraged me to think of this.

tv show

If i had to persuade someone to watch a TV show, I would choose the series LOST. I never really got into it right as it came out, because I had never seen it. I had seen my commercials showing its airing times, but never actually watched. My roommate was a huge fan, and constantly talked about it. He would always say, "Nice, LOST is on tonight," and "Derek you should watch one episode just so you can see what its like." And that is what I did, I watched the first episode, and was hooked. I immediately thought to myself why had I not started watching this right when it came out. It is an action packed adventure, filled with an uncountable number of twists and turns. It kept me watching, because I always wanted to know what was going to happen next.

exreme emotion

I have had many instances of extreme emotions in my life, but one that stands out in my head is the time I went to state for hockey. I was so ecstatic that I could barely get my gear on before our first game. It was such a great accomplishment for me being the captain of my team and being a senior. I was so surprised that we made it there, I didn't really care so much as to how we ended up finishing. I was surprised once more by winning the consolation championship. I meant so much to me, and it couldn't have come at a better time.

advertising

Generally when I'm watching TV, and a commercial comes up my instant reaction is to change the channel. However, if the commercial strikes me as interesting or funny, I may leave it on and watch it. In my Mass Communications class I learned that I am a "zapper." A "zapper" is a person who turns the channel whenever an advertisment comes on.

comparing letters

In comparing the two letters written by Martin Luther King Jr. and Barak Obama, it’s hard for me to understand what Martin Luther King jr. is bringing to the table, because I didn’t grow up in those times, and therefore don’t know how things exactly were. On the other hand Barak Obama’s letter is much more involved in my life. All of the current problems with racism are seen every day. Two very clear differences I can see in both letters are that they are talking from different viewpoints. Barak Obama is speaking mainly about his, along with his families struggle to come up in a world, with racism lingering and less apparent. In Martin Luther King Junior’s case, he is speaking more on the behalf of the entire nation of African Americans.
